Once upon a time in Romeo, Michigan, the Leonard Eldred Residence, a stunning 1901 Queen Anne Victorian, stood proud and tall.

Known affectionately as the “Birdcage House” for its unique cupola, this architectural gem was a marvel with heart-shaped entrances and ornate brackets.

As time meandered on, the house embraced its role in the community, featuring in garden tours, Christmas walks, and even becoming a cherished Christmas ornament in 1999.

With its wrap-around porch whispering tales of bygone summers and grand rooms echoing laughter from countless gatherings, the Birdcage House became more than a structure; it became a treasured piece of history.

Lovingly updated with modern amenities without sacrificing its historic soul, the house now boasts marble and tile bathroom details, a spacious kitchen with stainless steel appliances, and a cozy screened porch.

It’s a place where memories of wallpapering large closets with a loving father blend with visions of artists and historians admiring its enduring beauty.

Today, this carefully preserved slice of the past is complete with a fish pond and a private yard.
