Nestled in Atlanta’s Grant Park district, Callalyn is a distinguished residence that embodies the timeless elegance and grandeur of 19th-century Victorian architecture
History of Callalyn
“Callalyn” traces its roots back to 1890, envisioned by George Franklin Barber, a notable architect famed for his mail-order blueprints.
Showcased on HGTV’s “Dreambuilders” and “What’s With That House,” this Queen Anne Victorian home was completed in 2001, blending historical and modern elements.

The owners pre-built the unique “witch’s hat” turret roof at their Lawrenceville property on their back deck before the home’s construction began in 2000.

Elegant Interiors of Callalyn
Inside the foyer, the walls and ceiling feature Bradbury & Bradbury designs, true to the period’s style.
The front parlor’s mantel dates back to the 1920s, and the ground floor doors are antiques from various places, including North Carolina and the Lakewood Fairgrounds.

In the dining room, a detailed plaster medallion, which the owners crafted over the years and featured in Fine Home Building magazine, draws the eye upward.
The house also boasts intricate inlaid hardwood floors, a carefully constructed Victorian staircase with two switches, custom stained glass in the turret sitting areas, and detailed Victorian-era woodwork.
