ICE Raid Leaves Baby Almost Hit by Tear Gas in Chicago
X

A shocking video from a recent ICE raid in Chicago reveals a baby nearly hit by a tear gas canister as chaotic scenes unfold in a residential neighborhood. The footage, posted on social media, shows ICE agents swarming the area, while protesters scramble to protect themselves and those around them. The raid has sparked outrage, especially after it was revealed that a baby in a carrier was in the direct line of fire.

Tear Gas Incident and Baby in Danger

The video, shared on X (formerly Twitter), begins with heavily armed ICE agents in tactical gear raiding a residential area. In one harrowing moment, an agent throws a tear gas canister that explodes, sending plumes of smoke into the street. As protesters rush to grab the canisters and throw them away, a tense scene unfolds when someone yells, “There’s a baby in that car, man.” The baby, still in a carrier, is seen being pulled from a car by two individuals just as another canister lands near them.

Suburban Streets Turned Into a War Zone

As more tear gas canisters are deployed, the suburban neighborhood quickly transforms into a chaotic, war-like environment. People run for cover behind cars, trying to shield themselves from the intense smoke. The scene intensifies as another tear gas canister is thrown in the direction of the baby, prompting someone to shout, “Put the baby in the house.” The video captures the growing panic and fear from both protesters and residents.

Protesters Fight Back, Disrupting ICE Operations

As the tear gas clouds spread, individuals protest the actions of ICE, with one person seen throwing a canister away from the crowd to prevent further harm. Another video posted by Republicans Against Trump shows an ICE officer chasing and tackling a man who had thrown a canister to divert the danger. The footage highlights the increasing tension and resistance from community members in response to the federal agents’ presence.

Federal Agents Storm Albany Park Neighborhood

The incident is part of a broader trend of troubling actions by federal agents in Chicago. On Sunday, the Albany Park neighborhood was shocked by the arrival of at least four ICE vehicles, which took a man into custody and deployed tear gas into the community. Local residents and activists, led by Ald. Rossana Rodriguez-Sanchez, responded rapidly, attempting to alert others and push back against the federal agents.

Police Brutality During the Raid

As the chaos continued, attorney Samay Gheewala was reportedly shoved to the ground by federal agents, causing injuries to his hands. Gheewala was speaking with local police officers when the incident occurred. His account, alongside others, further fuels concerns over the aggressive tactics used by federal agents during these raids and the potential harm they cause to local communities.
